Caraga business received assistance to improve operational productivity, keep labor force

BUTUAN CITY – To enhance business stability and growth, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Caraga recently awarded cheques amounting to P2.7 million to seven local business owners to help them boost their business operational management while supporting the welfare of their workers, at Almont Inland Resort of this city.

These business owners, recognized as Productivity Olympics Winners by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) Caraga, are the first batch of DOLE Adjustment Measures Program (DOLE-AMP) beneficiaries in the region.

Through the DOLE-AMP, these businesses will be able to acquire essential equipment facilities and invest in training programs to enhance their workers' skills and knowledge. This support will provide for the improvement of their operations and adapt to changing market demands.

Each proponent received a cheque ranging from approximately P390,000 to P400,000, tailored to their specific business needs and approved project proposals. This funding will benefit a total of 162 workers.

The first batch of AMP proponents in Caraga includes the following businesses: (1) Citrus Hill Plantation; (2) Amparitas Integrated Farm; (3) Trento Hillsview Inn; (4) Mangagoy Farmers Fisherfolks and Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MAFFISCO-MPC); (5) Surigao del Sur I Electric Cooperative (SURSECO - I); (6) Tabon Secondary Teachers and Employees Cooperative (TASETEMCO); (7) Southway Colleges of Technology (SOCOTECH).

DOLE Regional Director Joffrey M. Suyao expressed gratitude to the proponents for their strong cooperation in supporting the welfare of workers in the region while enhancing their businesses.

“At DOLE, we are not only concerned about the welfare of workers but also attentive to the situation of our business owners. You are the lifeblood of our workforce. As productivity advocates, we hope you will promote our program to reach more entrepreneurs, enabling us to provide sustainable employment for our workers in the region,” Dir. Suyao stated.

During the event, two new proponents also signed a Memorandum of Agreement namely; Andres Soriano Memorial Hospital Cooperative and La Entrada Resort and Restaurant.

Under the DOLE-AMP, DOLE is committed to assisting the micro, small and medium enterprises in Caraga region. It aims to enhance capacity for job preservation and generation, improve human resource and enterprise viability and resilience, raise levels of productivity and competitiveness, and actively contribute to promotion of decent and sustainable work opportunities.
