LGU Bayugan re-orients on Basic Orientation Course for Barangay Newly Elected Officials
AGUSAN DEL SUR -- The city government of Bayugan, in partnership with the Liga ng mga Barangay and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Agusan del Sur, recently concluded the two-day Basic Orientation Course for Barangay Newly Elected Officials (BNEO).
The second day featured engaging sessions by distinguished resource speakers such as Judge Anthony P. Vitor of the Municipal Circuit Trial Courts (MCTC) Jabonga-Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte, who discussed the Katarungang Pambarangay, Public Ethics, and Parliamentary Procedures, offering practical tools for conflict resolution, ethical governance, and orderly conduct of meetings.
Emily M. Gatillo, program manager of DILG-Agusan del Sur, emphasized the role of participatory governance through barangay-based institutions and key DILG Programs.
Elva Theresa D. Velmonte, outcome manager of DILG-Agusan del Sur, introduced the Barangay Agenda for Governance and Development (B-AGAD), a strategic planning tool to guide barangays in setting development priorities.
