It is moving West Northwestward at 15 km/h. Shear Line affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon. Northeast Monsoon affecting the rest of Luzon. Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds from northeast to northwest will prevail over the western sections of Mindanao with moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 3.1 meters). Elsewhere, moderate winds from the northwest to southwest to southeast with moderate seas (1.2 to 2.5 meters).

DepEd-13, Agusan Sur LGU meet for 2026 Palarong Pambansa

AGUSAN DEL SUR -- To ensure the successful holding of the Palarong Pambansa in 2026 in the province of Agusan del Sur, Governor Santiago Cane Jr. and the Department of Education (DepEd) led by Caraga Director Maria Ines Asuncion held a meeting with the technical working group (TWG) responsible for the event. 

The meeting at the Provincial Governor's Office (PGO) conference room was attended by various stakeholders, key figures from the education sector and the provincial government, and sports experts to discuss plans, strategies, and preparations.

The premier annual multi-sport event for elementary and high school students in the Philippines, plays a critical role in the development of athletes and in promoting sportsmanship, discipline, and unity among the Filipino youth. 

Gov. Cane emphasized on the importance of early preparation and collaboration among various agencies and local government units.

The meeting served as a platform for updating stakeholders on the progress of the preparations, discussing logistical challenges, and ensuring that all necessary resources are in place for the successful staging of the games. 

Dir. Asuncion outlined their roles in ensuring that all aspects of the event, from the selection of venues, billeting quarters to transportation and security measures are meticulously planned and executed.

Discussions included the measures to be taken for crowd control, emergency preparedness, and healthcare provisions.

The group also discussed the importance of securing sponsorships and forming partnerships with the private sector to support the event with their resources and expertise.

The governor further emphasized the need for sustainable practices in organizing the event, such as reducing waste, ensuring eco-friendly facilities, and promoting the use of local products and services.
