PNP-13 Celebrates PNP Ethics Day; awards 16 personnel

BUTUAN CITY – The Philippine National Police (PNP) - Police Regional Office (PRO)13 celebrated the 31st PNP Ethics Day, highlighting the giving of wards to 16 deserving personnel during the traditional Monday flag-raising ceremony held on Monday, Jan. 6.

The PRO13 Command Group, led by PCol. Michael F. Lebanan, deputy regional director for administration, spearheaded the significant event alongside Atty. Winston L. Plaza, director IV of the Civil Service Commission 13, as the guest of honor and speaker.

A key highlight of the event was the awarding of 16 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of PRO13 for their commendable acts.

PCo.l Harry B. Domingo, PSSg. Kenneth S. Flores, PSSg. Genalyn S. Hofeliña, PSSg. Emarianne P. Ravelo, PCpl .Dianne D. Noer, PCpl. Dowieflor V. Penecitos, PCpl. Jessa L. Apao, PCpl. Elbert Ray U. Corpuz, Pat. Hilario C. Arnego Jr., Pat. Miradel L. Ramirez, and NUP Riamie A. Bautista were awarded the Medalya ng Ugnayang Pampulisya for their efforts in distributing relief packs and clothing to 80 families affected by a fire in Tandag City on October 2024.

Other recipients of the same award included:

• PCMS Darwin B. Arboleda, for establishing Dinagat Islands Lumalaban ang mga Athletang Balibolista (DILAAB), a youth volleyball organization with 250 members who, in partnership with local police, also received anti-drug addiction education;

• PMSg. Mashul S. Nami Jr., for his invaluable contributions to “Project Shukran,” a best practice initiative by Bayugan City Component Police Station aimed at fostering stronger ties between the Muslim community and local police;

• PSSg. Venancio P. Colon Jr., for his prompt response in assisting a 17-year-old pregnant woman to safely deliver her baby in the remote areas of Bayugan City; and

• PCpl. Karla Kate N. Manuel, for her selfless act of aiding a local resident suffering from extreme heat and exhaustion during a community gathering in Barobo, Surigao del Sur.

With this year’s theme, “Serbisyong May Integridad at Pananagutan, Tungo sa Ligtas at Mapayapang Pilipinas,” Dir. Plaza emphasized the importance of delivering public service with honor and integrity.

“Integrity is the quality of being honest and serves as the foundation of trust. Ang serbisyong tapat at may integridad ay serbisyong may kredibilidad. And we can only earn credibility when our people trust and believe in us. That is why every time you see your badge, always wear it with honor, integrity, and pride. Dahil ang badge na yan ay simbolo ng tiwalang pinagkaloob sa inyo ng mamamayan,” he said. (PNP Caraga/PIA-Caraga)
