BUTUAN CITY — The Tribu Kamanting Performing Arts Guild Barug Dinagat Foundation from the Province of Dinagat Islands will again join the long-awaited Sinulog 2025’s ritual showdown in Cebu City on January 19.
The group first joined the said competition in 2024 and landed the first runner up in the ritual showdown’s free interpretation category, and surpassed the other veteran contingents.
To ensure that the group is most ready to perform during this year’s competition, the performers and coaches of the Tribu Kamanting are passionately doing their much-needed preparations and rehearsals, aiming to win the Champion Award in Sinulog 2025.
The group also received assistance from Dinagat Islands Congressional Representative Alan Uno B. Ecleo, as the first and loyal supporter of the group, saying, “Tribu Kamanting represents the pride and spirit of the Dinagat Islands and the Caraga region as they will showcase the talent and artistry on a national stage at the Sinulog 2025.”
We stand united in support of their journey and celebration of Dinagat Islands’ vibrant heritage.
Coach Charles Gimena, a Dinagatnon and senior high student, added, “Tribu Kamanting will not only present the culture, talent and arts of the province, our performance and prowess will deliver a strong message of resilience and unity, showing to the entire world the pride of the province.”
For this year, the Sinulog 2025 ritual showdown will be participated by 11 out-of-town contingents, including Tribu Kamanting; 18 from Cebu City’s barangays and schools; and 11 contingents from the province of Cebu. (RLE/PIA-Dinagat Islands)
