Holiday celebration remains peaceful in Agusan Norte

BUTUAN CITY – “The celebration of Christmas and New Year across Agusan del Norte was generally safe and peaceful,” said PCol. April Mark C. Young, provincial director of Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office (ADNPPO).

"Records show that our 2024 Christmas Eve and 2025 New Year are among the most peaceful and secured celebrations in recent years with no major incident or crime recorded," he said.

Accordingly, incident reports coming from lower units were on traffic accidents and other minor crimes only.

He emphasized that this is the result of intensified police presence in all areas of convergence as mandated by the Police Regional Office 13.

PCol. Young added, “The officers conducted continuous police visibility, inspections and visitations to ensure that the increased security measures as designed were implemented.”

Young reiterated that this is the product of their relentless anti-crime campaign for the holidays.

The security coverage of ADNPPO was  tightened more, especially on December 26, as it was the anniversary of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP).  At this time, all police stations and mobile force companies intensified their security measures and intelligence fusions with other members of the security sector.

Young instructed all stations and force commanders to redirect patrol operations to maximize police visibility on all places of convergence and vital installations so everyone would have a peaceful, joyous and safe holiday celebration with their families and loved ones. (ADNPPO/PIA-Agusan del Norte)
