Agusan Sur police joins celeb on Women’s Month
PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur – The Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office (ADSPPO) led by Police Colonel (PCol.) Yahya Bustamante Yusup, provincial director, spearheaded the conduct of the 2025 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) Kick-Off Ceremony with a recurring theme from 2023-2028: “WE for gender equality and inclusive society.”
With the goal of fostering a society where all women have equal rights, power, and opportunities, the 2025 NWMC carries the sub-theme, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas.”
This reinforces the core objectives of RA No. 9710, or the Magna Carta of Women – to empower women, promote gender equality, and ensure equitable access to resources and opportunities, held at the ADSPPO Covered Court, Camp D.O. Plaza, Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur at about 10:00 AM on March 3.
Vanessa Marie V. Yaoyao, regional and provincial president of Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) served as the honored guest speaker of the said event.
This was subsequently followed by the giving of Certificate of Appreciation and a bouquet of flowers as token of gratitude, together with the Provincial Staff led by Police Lieutenant Colonel (PLtCol.) Bonifacio C. Estrella, Jr., deputy provincial director for administrations and PLtCol. Vici Anthony T. Tababa, deputy provincial director for operations.
“Choice is power. And when we talk about empowering women, we are not just talking about giving them opportunities—we are talking about giving them the right to decide for themselves. Because when a woman has a choice, she has freedom. And, when she has freedom, she gets to choose the best course of path for her,” Yaoyao said.
“Once again, the Women’s Month Celebration is not just about celebrating women’s potential but our contributions to the agenda of empowerment and to advance our society, as one nation and one race,” she added. (PRO13 Agusan del Sur Pulis/PIA Agusan del Sur)
