Communist rebels surrender in Agusan Norte
CABADBARAN CITY, Agusan del Norte -- Seven members of the Communist NPA Terrorists (CNT) peacefully surrendered to the 29th Infantry Battalion (29IB)on March 24, 2025, through special intelligence operations and Intensified Information, Education and Communications Campaign. The surrender took place at the 29IB headquarters in Purok 4, Brgy Del Pilar, Cabadbaran City.
The individuals who surrendered are Luiegy Rebuclas Sagay alias Boswan/Lakan, Lilian Trabajo Carbonilla alias Lyn, Ariel Enriquez alias Dan, Henry Pinao alias Dany, Joel P. Dayong alias Seloy, Arnel Pinao alias Martin, Jomar B. Pinao alias Dong-Dong. These former insurgents are all members of the Sub Regional Sentro de Grabedad Westland, North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee (SRSDG WL, NEMRC) who were encountered by the government forces in Butuan City on January and February of this year. The CNTs handed over several firearms and explosives, including: one 5.56mm M16A1 rifle, One 12 Gauge Armscor shotgun, one .45mm Colt pistol, two improvised explosive devices (IEDs), remote control modules, blasting caps, and assorted bomb-making materials.

Kini ilang pag-surrender usa ka hinungdanong kontribusyon aron makab-ot ang kalinaw ug kahapsay dinhing dapita sa Caraga region. Sa mga naglihok pa sa kabukiran, naug na mo uban inyong armas, ug hatagi inyong kagalingon ug bag-o ug gawasnong kaugmaon kauban inyong pamilya (I thank these former rebels who have chosen to surrender, leave behind the path of violence & conflict, and reintegrate to the mainstream society. The government will be giving them opportunities to start a new and free life, and build their new future, through the E-CLIP. Their surrender is a vital contribution to attaining peace and order in this part of Caraga region.
