Caraga police arrest 54, seize over P1.6M worth of illegal drugs 

BUTUAN CITY -- Police operatives across Caraga region arrested 54 suspects and seized P1,632,007.96 worth of illegal drugs during the simultaneous anti-criminality and law enforcement operations conducted from March 24 to 30. 

According to the report from the Regional Operations Division, the operations led to the arrest of 10 high-value individuals (HVIs) and 44 street level individuals (SLI). 

Operatives confiscated a total of 222.26 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as ‘shabu’ worth P1,511,368, along with 1,005.333 grams of marijuana worth P120,639.96.

One of the arrested persons was alias “Mic”, 32 years old, SLI, through buy-bust operation in Barangay Sta. Isabel, Sta. Josefa, Agusan del Sur, for possession of 51.55 grams of shabu worth P350,540. 

Another significant operation resulted in the arrest of alias “Nic”, 57 years old, HVI, in Barangay Dagocdoc, Tandag City with 35 grams of ‘shabu’ worth P238,000, a caliber .45 Commodore pistol, a hand grenade, a .45 Taurus pistol, and assorted ammunition last March 26, 2025. 

Meanwhile, Police Brigadier General Christopher N. Abrahano, Regional Director of PRO13, also reported that 19 drug personalities were arrested in Surigao del Sur, the highest number of arrests in the region, followed by 16 in Surigao del Norte.

“We attribute the success of these operations to the intelligence monitoring and relentless joint efforts of our local police and the community in dismantling illegal drug activities in our region.
