‘Angels Walk for Autism’ draws 250 families
BUTUAN CITY -- In a historic and heartfelt observance of World Autism Acceptance Month, the SM City Butuan, in partnership with the Autism Society Philippines (ASP), hosted its first-ever ASP #AngelsWalk2025 on April 20.
The event drew an estimated 250
families, marking a significant step forward in the city’s efforts to raise
awareness and promote inclusion for individuals on the autism spectrum.
Participants, including persons with
autism, their families, advocates, and supporters, filled the mall with a sea
of blue as they walked in solidarity under the nationwide campaign #AutiSMoKPH.
The walk aimed to highlight the
importance of understanding, acceptance, and support, echoing ASP’s call for a
society where neurodiverse individuals are embraced and celebrated.
This milestone event reflects the growing movement toward inclusivity in the region and underscores the institution’s commitment to being a space where everyone—regardless of ability—feels welcome and valued. (CBM, SM City/PIA Caraga)
