DINAGAT ISLANDS —The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Caraga, through its Technical Operations Division, conducted the Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) User's Training to the personnel of the Department of Education—Schools Division Office of Dinagat Islands from April 7 to 9.
A total of 172 participants from various schools and offices under DepEd SDO Dinagat Islands actively took part in the 3-day training, which was held across three key venues namely, Albot Central Elementary School, Cagdianao Central Elementary School and in Don Ruben Edera Ecleo Sr. Memorial National High School.
The activity opened by the Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Bryan L. Arreo, PhD, CESE, highlighted the importance of digital transformation and secure communication in the education sector.
“This program from DICT Caraga aligns with our mission to ensure our educators and personnel are equipped with the right tools and knowledge to adapt to modern governance. Cybersecurity and digital signatures are no longer optional—they are necessary in today’s digital age,” Dr. Arreo stated.
The PNPKI User's Training focused on empowering DepEd personnel with the technical know-how on the use of PNPKI digital certificates, which enable secure digital transactions, e-signatures, and protection of sensitive information. The training supports the broader goal of digitalizing government services while promoting data privacy and cybersecurity best practices.
DICT Caraga extended its gratitude to the Schools Division Office of Dinagat Islands for its strong partnership and to the host schools for providing venues conducive to learning and engagement.
